Dutch Cookies
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup sugar
1 egg, separated
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cups chopped nuts (pecans)
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk. Sift flour and cinnamon together, and add to butter/sugar/egg mixture. Pat into a jelly roll pan (15 x 1 x 11 1/2) (Use your hands if necessary and flour them)
Brush egg white over entire surface, then sprinkle grated nuts. Press nuts down slightly. Bake 30 mins. at 300°F. Cut into squares when cool.
